A member of Phi Beta Kappa and a Golden Key National Honor Society member, Dr. Gerald E. Grubbs graduated summa cum laude from the University of Tennessee, in Knoxville. He earned a liberal-arts Bachelor of Arts degree with zoology and biology majors.
Dr. Grubbs procured the prestigious Fred M. Roddy Academic Scholarship to the University Of Tennessee College Of Medicine. He proceeded to graduated in the top 10 percent of his class and was the class vice president from 1986-87.
Dr. Grubbs served his residency in diagnostic radiology at the University of Tennessee. He also served a fellowship in cardiovascular and interventional radiology at the Miami Cardiac and Vascular Institute at Baptist Hospital.
